Why can’t I access streaming services from my Cabasse connected product?

Using a VPN (on a smartphone, tablet, or router) may block or interfere with certain features of the Cabasse app and connected speakers.

Possible issues when a VPN is active on a phone or tablet

Depending on the VPN provider, the technology used, and the country of connection, a VPN may:

  • Make Wi-Fi setup for speakers unstable or even impossible

  • Prevent speakers from being detected on the network (even via Ethernet)

  • Block certain sources (Connect, AirPlay, Roon, etc.)

  • Partially or completely block access to streaming services

  • Cause display issues in the Cabasse app

  • Slow down connected features

Possible issues when a VPN is configured on the router

When the VPN is active at the home router level, it may also:

  • Prevent speaker calibration

  • Block software updates

  • Disrupt or block multi-room functionality

  • Cause all of the issues listed above

How can I resolve the problem?

  • Disable the VPN when using the Cabasse app and streaming services

  • Check if your VPN offers split tunneling and exclude the Cabasse app from the VPN

  • Test without the VPN to confirm whether the issue is VPN-related

Is the issue caused by the Cabasse product?

No. These issues are related to the way the VPN operates and are not caused by the Cabasse app or speakers.
